Security officers are not police and have no powers beyond those of an ordinary citizen — the citizen's arrest under s.24A PACE applies in very limited circumstances and only when a police constable is unavailable. Reasonable force in self-defence or defence of others is lawful, but Risk Secured officers are trained to de-escalate first. Where physical intervention is ever necessary, every incident is logged, reported, and reviewed. If your site needs enforcement capability, we will advise whether door supervision licensing or a police liaison arrangement is more appropriate.
A static guard is permanently present on site — the right choice when visible deterrence, access control, or immediate response is needed around the clock. Mobile patrols are a cost-effective alternative for sites that need regular checks but not a continuous on-site presence.
